We provide a safe, secure, educational, and fun environment for children from birth through 5th grade. Your child will have an opportunity to sing, play, create, discover, and learn God’s Word. We desire to partner with parents in our children’s spiritual formation, and we are here to help parents any way we can.
Children from birth through 5th grade can be registered for THRIVE Kids at one of our kiosks upon arrival. (Please arrive early to allow time for this process, which will take place before the worship gathering.) First-time guests will need to provide us with contact information and special instructions (allergies, needs). Children are welcome to remain with their parents for the entire Sunday morning worship gathering, as we believe it is the primary responsibility of parents to disciple their children as they are led. However, we ask that children remaining in the service are not disruptive.
There are two THRIVE Kids paths available depending on the age of your child:
Birth-PreK: Their program begins in the cafeteria immediately after registration and remains there for the entire service. They will be working through 12 character qualities and Bible verses throughout the year, one each month, using First Virtues for Toddlers. They will also have time for a craft and free play. (PreK students will join the mission focus with the K-5th graders listed below.)
K-5th graders: We believe that children’s participation in worship is important. They are able to watch, learn, participate, and grow to recognize that they are a part of this faith community. For this reason, after registration, our K-5th children are invited to remain with their parents during opening worship. Before the morning message, they will be received and securely checked in by a THRIVE Kids guide and escorted to the THRIVE Kids area in the cafeteria.
Here they will enjoy 3 fun and engaging activities:
First, there will be a mission focus where the children will learn about a missionary or organization. They will learn more about different ministries and their current needs, have opportunities to encourage these missionaries, and be given the chance to ask any questions they may have. The desire of this focus is to help our children see the Lord moving in areas outside their everyday lives as other Jesus-followers build bridges and shine the light of Christ.
Secondly, there will be a Bible lesson that will correspond with what the parents are learning in the main gathering from the pastor. There will be a one-week delay with these teachings, which gives opportunities for parents to learn the lesson and ask their own questions before then being able to reinforce it with their own children through family devotional time. (Refer to the “THRIVE at Home†section on each week's note sheet for a devotional jump start!)
Thirdly, they will create a craft or play a game that continues to strengthen the theme being taught. At the end of their time, there will be an opportunity to focus on memorizing the books of the Bible and memorizing a variety of life-changing verses, as well as a chance to sing some fun Scripture songs.
Parents will check out their children at the registration area following the worship gathering. We will use an ID tag system for check-in and pick-up, and all volunteers must pass a background check prior to serving. There will be a notification system in the event we need you to come to your child during the service.
