BOOK & BIBLE STUDIES
You Will Get Through This by Max Lucado
We all fear that the depression will never lift, the disappointment will never stop, the pain will never leave. Here in the pits, surrounded by steep walls, we wonder if our gray skies will ever brighten. Though these unprecedented and challenging times may bring a load of uncertainty and fear that feels too heavy to bear, God gives us this promise: You'll Get Through This.
In You'll Get Through This, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado traces the story of Joseph as told in the book of Genesis. The Bible tells us that Joseph was tossed into a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed. Yet Joseph's story is proof that we can flourish even in this broken world. On his darkest days, Joseph may have thought that the sun would never shine again, but God ultimately used these hardships for a greater purpose.
Lord, Heal My Hurts by Kay Arthur
No Matter How Deep the Wounds, God Can Heal Your Hurts. Everyone hurts. The pain runs deep, the scars never seem to fade, the memories torment us. As a result, our growth is stunted, our walk crippled, our relationships infected. Will relief never come? Yes -- when you put yourself in the hands of Jehovah-rapha, the God who heals! No matter what you've done or what's been done to you, He wants to be your refuge. He loves you. And He offers healing for your deepest wounds.

Trauma healing is a unique method of healing that unites proven mental health practices and engagement with God through the Bible. Some experiences in life are so painful, they cause deep and lasting suffering. That suffering is what we call “trauma”.
Trauma is a deep wound of the heart and mind that takes a long time to heal. It hurts every part of us: our relationships, our bodies, our thoughts, and our faith.
In the Trauma Healing sessions, we will begin to heal together.
We will cover 6 topics:
1. If God loves us, why do we suffer?
2. What is a wound of the heart?
3. What can help our heart wounds heal?
4. What happens when someone is grieving?
5. Bringing our pain to Jesus.
6. How can we forgive others?
