Where He Leads

Where He Leads

Where He Leads

(Acts 16:1-15)

(Are we willing and desiring to follow?)

1.The Holy Spirit is a PERSON, not a FORCE .

(John 16:8, 14:6-7,26, 16:7,13; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 5:18; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Acts 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 5:19)

2.Our PLANS are not always God’s PLANS.

(Isaiah 55:8; Proverbs 16:1)

3.Sometimes, we need to stop and WAIT for DIRECTION.

(Ps. 37:7, 46:10; Isa. 58:11; Prov. 3:5-6)

Ways God reveals His will to us:

(Matthew 29:19-20; Acts 8:26, 9:10-16, 10:10; James 1:5; 2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:9,105; Joshua 1:8; John 10:2-5,14-16; John 14:16-17,26; Romans 12:1-2)

(5) Direct communication with our heart:

1. As we PRAY.

2. As we MEDITATE on His Word.

3. As we CULTIVATE a two-way relationship and ‘PRACTICE listening to His voice.

4. As we ABIDE in the power of the Holy Spirit.

5. As we live toward a transformed MIND.

One final point:

When He leads, we typically end up SHARING life with someone!

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2.If you are truly seeking the Lord, abiding in His Word, and living in the power of the Holy Spirit, can you really make a ‘mistake’ when it comes to taking the next step in God’s journey for you? (Explain.)

3.What are some practical things to do (and not do) to better hear and follow God’s voice?

4.Recall a time when God worked providentially in your life to place you where He wanted in order to use you for ministry. What did you learn through this?

5.Read Romans 12:1-2. How are we to avoid being conformed to this world? How are we to have our minds renewed?
