Something to Say

(Acts 4:1-22)
Sunday, November 26, 2017

1.Expect the world (and religion) to be ANGRY (and to show it) for our embrace of Christ. (That’s OK.)

(Matthew 15:9; Isaiah 6:9)

2. The ONLY way from helplessness to wholeness is JESUS. There is no other way.

(1 Peter 3:15; John 14:6; John 6:68-69; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Acts 10:43)

3. Jesus is not to be just a stone in our building, but the PRIMARY cornerstone.

(Psalm 118:22; Ephesians 2:20; Matthew 21:42; Ezekiel 34:7-10)

4. Remember, God often uses what the world calls FOOLISH to shame the WISE.

(1 Corinthians 1:27,28; Matthew 26:57-75)

5.Opposition comes in many forms, but we cannot allow any of it to SILENCE us!

6. The driving question we must ask ourselves: What is RIGHT in the sight of God?

(Acts 5:29; Jeremiah 20:9; Joshua 24:15; John 12:43)

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Traditions that point to Jesus and remind us of Him and who we are in Him – are not bad. But traditions that are hollow and repetitive can bring erosion. Where might we be in danger of keeping empty traditions?

2.We should be able to say that “Jesus is the chief cornerstone in my life.” Describe what this means.

3.Describe a time when God used you to minister to someone, and you knew it was not the product of your “knowledge or training.”

4.What intimidates you when it comes to speaking boldly for Christ?

5.Recall a time when you faced the decision: “Do I take the easy way out…or do the RIGHT thing?” What was the outcome? (Don’t be intimidated if you chose the easy way out. Talk/pray through it, and discuss how you can approach similar situations differently in the future.)
