(It is Jesus and…NOTHING else!)
1.Not everything that is taught is RIGHT. God’s WORD determines what is right.
(Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1-3)
2.About some matters, we cannot AGREE to DISAGREE.
(Hebrews 9:10; 10:10,18; Galatians 3:24-25, 6:15; Hebrews 10:1; Colossians 2:17; Romans 3:10-11, 20; 2 Corinthians 3:7-18; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Genesis 17:10-14; Acts 4:12; John 14:6)
3.When you might be tempted to CHANGE your mind, go back to what God has already REVEALED.
(Acts 10; Romans 3:24, 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; John 3:16; Titus 3:4-5)
4.Jesus and NOTHING ELSE saves!
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:2-3)
5.Don’t ever bring TROUBLE or be a STUMBLING BLOCK to someone who is seeking God.
(Matthew 18:6,7; Mark 9:42; Luke 17:2; Proverbs 4:16; Romans 14:20; 1 Corinthians 9:3-5,12; Galatians 2:11-16)
Taking it further to help you THRIVE…
1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
2.Recall a time when you held to a belief you really thought was true – only to find out later it wasn’t. How did you respond to this discovery? What did it teach you?
3.If someone believes something that is not in accordance with God’s Word, we may not be able to convince them otherwise. But why is merely “agreeing to disagree” with them dangerous?
4.In what ways can we be a stumbling block for someone who is seeking God?
5.A “liberalist” takes away from God’s Word; a “legalist” adds to God’s Word. I hope we are neither, but in what ways might we be (have been) guilty of these?
