(Sharing Christ with a world that doesn’t know Him)
1.Don’t see idolatry as merely cultural and harmless, but GRIEVOUS. Get engaged, not enraged.

(Romans 12:2; Luke 19:41; 1 John 2:15-17, 3:13; James 4:4; Matt. 6:24, 7:13; Colossians 2:8; John 12:46; Ephesians 5:11; Isaiah 44:9-20, 45:20; 1 Corinthians 10:7,14; 1 John 5:21; Jonah 2:8; Judges 10:14; Exodus 20:3-6; Psalm 16:4, 135:15-18; Rev. 9:20)

2.Embrace the ‘marketplace mission’ – GO where the people are and don’t expect them to COME to me.

(Colossians 3:23-24, 4:5-6; Matthew 28:19; Luke 9:2,60)

3.Build a _____________________ with your audience.

(John 4:7; Luke 19:5; Luke 2:52; Acts 2:47; Galatians 6:10; Ephesians 5:16; Proverbs 22:1; Matt. 5:13-16)

Paul’s clear presentation of the Living God:
4.Communicate that God is THE _______________________.

(Romans 1:18-20; Psalm 19; John 1:3; Genesis 1)

5.Communicate that THE Creator is greater than the _____________________.

(Isaiah 40:22-28, 55:8-9, 60:1-2; Acts 7:48; 1 Kings 8:27; Job 26:4; Psalm 8:3-4, 50:10-12, 147:5)

6.Communicate that God is also the _____________________ of life.

(Daniel 5:23; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Peter 3:7)

7.Communicate a __________________________ to which the person must respond, and leave the results to God.

(Ecclesiastes 3:11; Joshua 24:15; Deuteronomy 30:15)

8.Clearly communicate ________________________!

(Romans 11:22; Acts 10:42; John 14:6; Matthew 24:14

9.Be ________________, and don’t grow _________________.

(Galatians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58)

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2.Read Romans 12:2. In what ways might you have become too conformed to the patterns and practices of the world?

3.As a Christ-follower, do you think it is important to know what is happening in the world in which we live (culture, current events, etc.) Why? Why not?

4.How often is compassion on your heart and mind when you think about cultural engagement? What makes having compassion difficult?

5.What are some helpful ways to initiate a discussion of spiritual things? What do you say if someone says, “I don’t believe in God,” or, “I don’t believe in the Bible”?
