(As the Church prayed, chains were being broken.)
1.Earnest, energetic PRAYER is our greatest resource.
(2 Timothy 2:9; Luke 22:44; James 5:16; 2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 6:18,19; 1 Thess. 5:17)
2.When there seems to be NO WAY , God does His thing!
(Hebrews 1:14, 13:2; Romans 8:31; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Isaiah 43:16)
3.Don’t overthink it or expect an EXPLANATION when God says, “GO NOW!”
(John 5:24; James 1:22; Colossians 3:1-2; Hebrews 12:1; 2 Corinthians 10:5; Philippians 4:6-7)
4.God has a way of PROTECTING us from those who would like to see us squirm.
(Psalm 23:5, 31:2, 33:18-19, 57:3, 59:1, 138:7, 140:4; 2 Corinthians 1:10; 2 Peter 2:9)
5.Our prayers may be with fervor, but are they offered UNDOUBTINGLY?
6.As crazy as circumstances can be, we must pause to declare the praises of Him who SET us FREE!
(Psalm 75:1; Jeremiah 20:13; Ephesians 1:5; 1 Peter 2:9)
7.Don’t try to STEAL God’s GLORY.
(Malachi 3:8; Isaiah 42:8; Romans 1:18-23; Psalm 115)
8.Earthly kings and kingdoms will come and go, but God’s WORD and our MISSION live on!
(Psalm 2:1-5; 2 Timothy 2:9)
Taking it further to help you THRIVE…
1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
2.How did the Church respond to Herod’s actions? How did Peter respond to being put in prison? What lessons are there for us in these responses?
3.When we sense God asking us to do something, why do we often respond with inaction and overthinking instead of immediate obedience?
4.The disciples prayed, but it appears they also doubted. What can we do to combat doubt?
5.In Isaiah 42:8, God says, “I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another…” In what ways do we try to rob God of His glory? Jail
