It Takes a Team

Acts 6:1-7
Sunday, February 4, 2018
As the Church grows, we must work together…

1.Equipping DISCIPLES takes a team.

(1 Thessalonians 5:11; Ephesians 4:29; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2)

2.Dealing with DIVISION takes a team.

(Ephesians 2:14; Galatians 3:26-28; Romans 16:17; 1 Corinthians 3:3)

3.Ensuring that no one is NEGLECTED or overlooked takes a team.

(Exodus 22:22; Deuteronomy 10:18, 24:17; Psalm 68:5, 146:9; Isaiah 1:17, 10:2; Jeremiah 22:3; 1 Timothy 3:16; Philippians 2:4; Galatians 6:2; James 1:27)

4.Ensuring that the WORD OF GOD remains the main thing takes a team.

(Exodus 18; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalm 119)

5.SERVING on a team, in ANY role, is a BIG deal.

(Colossians 3:23; Galatians 1:10, 6:9; Proverbs 6:6-8, 12:24, 13:4; James 1:12; Ecclesiastes 9:10; Philippians 3:14; Hebrews 12:3; 1 Cor. 12:12-20)

6.Serving with devotion on a team yields…a WIN!

(Romans 12:18; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:3,13)

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention,
challenged, or confused you?

2.Is it easier to talk about a problem or to do something about it? What are some steps we can take to turn discussion into action?

3.What does it feel like to be neglected or overlooked? What can we as a THRIVE Group do to help stop this from happening to people in our church and communities?

4.Practically speaking, how can each of us keep the “ministry of the Word” a priority in our lives?

5.What happens when we expect too much from one person? What happens to that person? What happens to everyone else ‘depending’ on that person? (How might you be able to relate to this??)

6.Why was it important for those who would “wait on tables” to be wise and spiritual? How does this apply to serving today?

7.If you are currently not serving, where do you think God may want to use you at TCF? How can you contribute to making the ministry / impact of TCF more effective?
