I Once Could ‘See’…But Now I’m Blind

I Once Could ‘See’… But Now I’m Blind

(Acts 9:1-9)
Sunday, March 18, 2018
God, open the eyes of my heart.

1.Regardless of our PAST, God will use it to SHAPE the future.

(Philippians 3:5-6; Acts 11:26; John 14:6)

2.Remember, Jesus often meets us when, where, and how we LEAST (or don’t) EXPECT it!

(Acts 22:6, 26:13; Luke 10:41, 22:31; Matthew 23:37; John 15:25; Psalm 35:19, 69:4)

3.The single greatest question we must ANSWER: Who is Jesus to ME?

(Matthew 16:15)

4.As MEMBERS of His Body (the Church), each of us is of immense VALUE to Jesus.

(John 15:1-6; Matthew 25:40,45; Luke 17:2)

5.It is useless for me to FIGHT against God’s WILL.

(Acts 7, 26:14, 22:10; Romans 16:7; Isaiah 63:10; Ephesians 4:30; Acts 7:51; 1 Thessalonians 5:19; Ephesians 4:30-31)

6.The single greatest question we must ASK: Lord, what do You want me to DO?

(Acts 26:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:8, Galatians 1:15-16, 1 Timothy 1:12-13.)

7.Sometimes, we have to be “BLINDED” so that we can SEE.

(John 21:22)

8.Sometimes, we need HELP.

(Hebrews 10:24-25)

9.Sometimes, our ‘APPETITES’ have to be struck so we can take stock of where we are.

(Philippians 3:8; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 9:1)

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2.Why do you think Saul’s conversion was so dramatic and unusual?

3.Share a time when Jesus met you when/where you least expected it. What did He teach you?

4.Do you have the sense that God might be “goading” you spiritually, nudging you? What do you think He is trying to communicate to your heart? (What might God want to ‘close’ your eyes to so He can ‘open’ them to something else?)

5.Saul went from a power-wielding terrorist to being led by the hand like a little child learning to walk, and his companions were the ones who held his hand. How can we be a better “hand-holder” to someone who God is pursuing? (And what must we do to better allow someone to hold our hand?)
