How To Handle What We’ve Been Given
Sunday, November 11, 2018
1.Don’t go at it ALONE.
(1 Thessalonians 2:8; Ephesians 6:21,22; Ecclesiastes 4:9-10; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24)
2.Practice receiving God’s GRACE!
(Romans 8:1-2, 11:6; James 4:6; 1 Corinthians 15:10; 2 Corinthians 12:9)
3.Be a HUMBLE SERVANT, despite the odds or plots against me.
(Philippians 2:3-5; Mark 10:43-45; John 13:12-17; Matthew 20:26, 23:11)
4.When it comes to speaking the gospel, hold NOTHING back!
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Acts 4:29; Philippians 1:20)
5.Proceed with resolve in the face of the UNKNOWN.
(Acts 9:16; Psalm 32:8; Proverbs 23:17-18; Matthew 6:31-33)
6.CLING less tightly to me, myself, and I.
(Galatians 2:20; Hebrews 12:1-2; Philippians 1:21, 2:14; 2 Timothy 4:7; 1 Corinthians 9:24; Acts 13:25)
7.Be on the lookout for those who will want to invade and DESTROY.
(Matthew 7:15; 1 Peter 5:8)
8.Be a GIVER, not a TAKER.
(Proverbs 3:27, 21:26; Luke 3:11, 6:30; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
Taking it further to help you THRIVE…
1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
2.Who in your life do you play a shepherding role to? What can you apply from this chapter to be a better shepherd?
3.Paul wanted to “finish [his] race with joy” (20:24). What is robbing you of joy in your journey with Jesus? What is causing you interference in your race?
4.Paul sensed the Holy Spirit impressing on his heart that he would have to face difficult times. What happens to you when you are aware of upcoming challenges? How can we be better prepared for these?
5.What do you feel you have been ‘given’ that God is entrusting you to rightly handle?
