Happy Mother’s Day!!
(How God used a group of women to save the day!!)
We learn from the midwives:
1.Take a stand and do the RIGHT thing, even if it’s RISKY and your life is on the line.
(Genesis 3:15; Matthew 2:16; Acts 4:19, 5:29; Daniel 3)
We learn from the Israelite mothers:
2. Don’t let the fear of what ‘MIGHT HAPPEN’ stop you from moving forward with vitality.
(Psalm 23:4, 27:1, 127:3-5; John 14:27; Joshua 1:9; Matthew 6:34)
We learn from Moses’ mother:
3.Recognize the special GIFT in each of our children.
(Numbers 26:59; Hebrews 11:23; Isaiah 54:13; Mark 10:14, 18:10; Proverbs 17:6)
4.It is a noble pursuit to PROTECT our children.
5.When we have to let our children go, TRUST GOD!
We learn from Moses’ sister:
6. Don’t give up and WALK AWAY, because ‘it’ isn’t over yet!
(2 Chronicles 15:7; Isaiah 41:10; Galatians 6:9; Mark 10:27; Hebrews 12:1-3)
We learn from the Pharaoh’s daughter:
7. Don’t let the abundant cruelty in the world around you snuff out your COMPASSION.
(Colossians 3:12; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Philippians 2:1-3; Ephesians 4:32; Matthew 5:43-44, 15:29-39)
We learn from the slave girl:
8. When you see the chance to RESCUE a child (whether the child is yours or not), do it!
Taking it further to help you THRIVE…
1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
2.What is something you shy away from because of fear? When has fear of what ‘might happen’ stopped you from moving forward?
3.In what ways can we help protect, nurture, and perhaps even rescue a child that is not our own?
4.When the heat is high and the odds look bleak, it can be easy to give up and walk away. Why can the OPPOSITE be so difficult?
5.What all is involved in moving from feeling compassion to BEING compassionate?
