1 Kings 17-19
Sunday, September 9, 2018
1.God is faithful to SUSTAIN us in our troubles…in fact, His faithfulness is more apparent BECAUSE of our troubles.
(Matthew 6:11; 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, 11:23-29; Philippians 1:6)
2.God’s faithfulness is always BIGGER than we can understand.
(Ephesians 3:20; James 4:2-3; Psalm 8)
3.God’s faithfulness will extend THROUGH us to those AROUND use as well.
(Philippians 2:15; Matthew 5:16; 2 Corinthians 1:4-5)
4.God will provide for us that we NEED, when we need it. Look for His provision!
(1 Corinthians 10:13; Matthew 7:25-34; James 2:16)
5.God is faithful to make Himself KNOWN as we wait for Him and RESPOND to Him.
(Psalm 139; Matthew 6:7-8; Zechariah 4:6)
Taking it further to help you THRIVE…
1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
2.Have you ever experienced deeper intimacy with God because of a trial you were going through? Share an experience that caused you to understand God’s faithfulness even more.
3.In what areas might God be working through you to show His faithfulness to others around you? Have you been on the receiving side of God’s faithfulness through someone else? Share.
4.In some ways, Elijah seems to struggle with his faith. What are your thoughts on this tension? Has this been your experience?
5.Is there a journey or trial that God is bringing you through? If you are willing, share some about it. As a group, spend some time in prayer for these situations.
