Divine Protection

(Acts 23:16-35)
Sunday, February 3, 2019
1.God doesn’t renege on His PROMISES.

(Joshua 21:45; 2 Peter 1:4, 3:9; Isaiah 14:24; James 1:17; Numbers 23:19)

2.Protection comes from UNLIKELY sources at just the right time.

(Psalm 138:7; Isaiah 55:8-9; Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 27:14; Proverbs 3:5-6)

3.Sometimes God REVEALS and sometimes He CONCEALS – all to further His will.

(Ecclesiastes 10:20; Numbers 32:23; Daniel 2:21-22; Proverbs 25:2)

4.There are times when God wants to use me for someone’s protection, and I have to get INVOLVED!

(Matthew 10:16; Luke 6:38; Mark 10:45; 1 John 3:17; Luke 5:17-39)

5.There is no limit to the RESOURCES God will use to uphold my cause.

(Jeremiah 50:34; Ephesians 3:16-21; Colossians 1:17; Matthew 19:26)

6.Just because you can’t clearly SEE God at work doesn’t mean He is IDLE!

(Psalm 46:1,10; 94:19; Psalm 121; Lamentations 3:22; Philippians 1:6)

Taking it further to help you THRIVE

1.Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2.When are we tempted to doubt God’s promises? How can we fight against this?

3. On Sunday, we saw that God used Paul’s nephew in a big way to protect Paul’s life. How might God be presenting you with an opportunity to ‘get involved’ in someone’s life right now for their good?

4. We saw a lot of ‘just-so-happened’ incidents in this passage (which were very much in God’s control!) Describe a time when something happened to you that the world might say was a string of coincidences – but you are convinced was God at work.
